The Edinburgh International Festival and Fringe Festival take place during August and creates a great atmosphere in the city. Our city can boast of having a very cosmopolitan selection of cafes, restaurants and pubs outside London, with a fair selection within walking distance with choices and prices to suit all. We are 1 mile (1.6 km) from Princes Street (city centre and New Town) and 0.75 mile (1.2 km) from the Old Town. We are near Edinburgh University, Pollock Halls of Residence, Surgeons Hall, Queens Hall and Kings Hall. With the guest house being situated on a very good bus route you can be in the city centre within 10 minutes or 20-30 minutes if walking is your choice.
