Lindeth Howe is a beautiful country house hotel, originally built in 1879. Beatrix Potter once owned the house, and here she wrote and illustrated several of her world-renowned children’s stories, in particular, Timmy Tiptoes in 1911 and Pigling Bland in 1913. Lindeth Howe is set in 6 acres of beautiful gardens and has magnificent views over Lake Windermere. The bedrooms at Lindeth Howe are superior first class in quality: all rooms have ensuite facilities, colour TV with satellite, tea and coffee welcome trays, hair dryer and baby listening facility. The rooms are beautifully appointed, each with its own traditional style. The superior rooms are more spacious and have a trouser press, bathrobes, luxury toiletries and an enhanced welcome tray. Especially for children, a high tea is served in the early evening, guests are welcome to relax in the Beatrix Potter Library, the Hill Top Lounge or enjoy the well-stocked bar.
