Hotel Address
Castello-calle Muazzo 6457, Venice, IT, 30122
CA BAUTA*s seven rooms are located at the piano nobile of a fifteenth century palazzo, which has just been restored. The luxurious rooms, an impressive 4,70 m. high, surround a large central hall, a Venetian salone embellished by antique furniture and fittings. The building, which preserves a genuine Venetian atmosphere—is located in the populous district of Castello, leisurely 8 minutes walk from St. Marks. It is encircled by two isolated courtyards and a quiet little street, two blocks away from busy Barbaria delle Tole. The Inn*s name, Ca* Bauta, derives from the bauta, the original mask worn during the Venetian Carnival. Ca Bauta is situated a few steps far from SS Giovanni e Paolo square, one of the most spectacular square in Venice thanks to the Renaissance facade of Scuola Grande of San Marco and to the impressive temple which keeps mortal remains of doges and patricians. A rich buffet breakfast is served in our vast main hall decorated in Venetian style with huge charming glass chandeliers. *This city has made a fine art of excluding from its private life the millions of visitors who arrive each year. Which is why the seven-room Ca Bauta—occupying the second floor of the fifteenth-century former Muazzo family palace—is such a welcome addition to La Serenissima*s hotel scene. First of all, it*s in Castello, a residential neighborhood that*s far from the madding crowds but still convenient to San Marco. More important, it*s run by good-humored Venetians who are happy to share their city with you, from revealing their favorite wine bar to arranging a private visit to the best glass factory on Murano…..* *CA BAUTA WAS SELECTED BY CONDE NAST TRAVELER, MAY 2002 FOR ITS HOT LIST *52 BEST NEW HOTELS IN THE WORLD*, MAY 2002*
