Marlin Hotel-an Island Outpost Hotel
|
Hotel Address
1200 Collins Avenue, Miami Beach, FL, 33139
The Marlin has been dubbed "The Rock n' Roll Hotel" of South Beach and is the home of South Beach Studios, a state-of-the-art recording and mixing facility. This deluxe property with 11 suites attracts savvy travelers, numerous celebrities and entertainment executives.
The Marlin debuted in November 1991 and launched the Island Outpost Concept. Originally built in 1939 by L. Murray Dixon, the property's design artfully combines the building's original sleek Art Deco style with modern interiors.
The Marlin underwent a complete refurbishment in 1997 featuring an Afro- Urban décor by Barbara Hulanicki, the creative force behind the Hotel's original renovation.
Each suite has the feeling of a spacious, contemporary loft, with earth tones of red, ochre, brown and beige, custom designed furnishings, hardwood floors and brushed stainless steel accents on counter tops, bathroom fixtures and doors. Each suite features an unusual design aspect. For instance, suite 206 offers an exercise area with a lifecycle and free weights and suite 305 includes a state-of-the-art recording studio.
